Business Description
Hollywood actor Will Smith’s grandmother once told him, “Don’t let failure go to your heart and don’t let success go to your head.”
Comedian Kapil Sharma, it seems, never received this valuable life lesson. If he had, we would not be witnessing the small screen sensation’s career poised to embark upon a pitiful downward spiral to inevitable doom.
Like Smith’s grandmother, most of us have been taught this very important lesson by our parents and educators. That humility and triumphs must go hand in hand. That self-confidence and over-confidence shouldn’t be mistaken for each other and that other human beings, both senior and junior to you must always be treated with kindness and respect.
Sharma has failed on all counts.
The comedian’s meteoric rise to fame and euphoric adulation showered on him by a legion of fans had been well-earned. He had become an instant household name giving the ruthless ‘saas-bahus’ some serious competition. Comedy Nights were indeed awaited eagerly not just in households across India but also the Indian diaspora worldwide.
Kapil Sharma could do no wrong. The opportunities, the love and the success were his for the taking and all he had to do was to keep honing his craft and continue to make millions of people laugh out loud on their living room sofas. But great success has an evil twin called Arrogance that tends to rear its ugly head and it is up to us to stick to being on the right side of the fence or allow ourselves to cross over to the dark side.
Unfortunately, the funny man decided to jump over that fence and undo a great amount of that hard-earned adulation in a recent spate of bad behavior, physical and verbal fights with his co-workers and a shocking display of Gundagardi.
Thanks!
