Atlantic Airways has announced that they would begin operating a nonstop service from New York City to Vágar Airport in the Faroe Islands. The Stewart International Airport in Newburgh, some 70 miles north of New York City, stands in for "New York" in this case.

It will take around six hours one way for the trip aboard an Airbus A320neo set up for economy class to traverse the 3,024 mile journey. We regret that our chairs do not recline.By themselves, they aren't exactly earth-shattering news items. A few new hotels and an airplane may not seem like much of an improvement, but for a country with just 50,000 inhabitants, five traffic lights, and more sheep than humans (really, there are 70,000 sheep), these are remarkable developments.
