This is a free guide developed as a study guide for individuals who are studying for the Recovery Exam. It offers support for an addicted person and his or her family members when entering and progressing through treatment and recovery. Addiction Recovery Coaches are a specific subset of Substance Abuse Coaches that have a personal background in living with addiction. Certified Addiction Recovery coaches, however, may direct their peers toward resources in the community and social service organizations that might provide assistance. Emphasis is placed on skills needed to connect individuals in recovery with needed support in the community.
