The official tourism website for Sonoma Region claims that the app will help users choose the best activities and attractions in the county and create a personalized itinerary. In addition to real-time access to maps, images, and detailed descriptions of all nearby alternatives, users can now make reservations inside the app. Visitors may also choose from a number of location categories, such as outdoor, experiences, and events, and a number of activity categories, such as wine tasting, spas, eating, and shopping. When asked by a reporter about the motivation for the app's release in November, Sonoma County Tourism said it was in response to customer demand. Sixty-five percent of respondents to a recent poll agreed that trips with a strong narrative component leave a more meaningful impression on them. Additionally, 73% of respondents to the study said they want assistance arranging their vacation, and 73% said they didn't know what activities to arrange for their trip. The new Sonoma County app "cleverly handles these shortcomings," as one reviewer put it.
